Description

I promised not to post any more Frog Fish photos about 3 months ago, I literally have thousands of them, but I really really liked this one, so I just had to break the promise and post him up.

I love the vibrant orange on the grey of the sea bed, the contrast for me in this shot is killer. I wish I had of dumbed down the background lighting though and made it darker on the skirts, but hey, next time!

This was shot way back when I visited the Philippines in 2016, Dumaguete I believe, where the sand is grey or black from volcanic activity, but which is also a mega haven for Froggies!

Trust me, it’s worth the trek.

Hairy Leg Hermit Crab

It may not be the most fascinating critter in the ocean, it certainly is not rare, but the night I found it crawling around on bright yellow polyps I had to stop and see if I could make this remarkably unremarkable crab a little more interesting. It was a relatively simple shot, it was a night di [...]

Tiger Tail Sea Horse

It is always a beautiful day when you find Sea Horse while diving, they are such weird little underwater specimens that you can't help but sit and stare, occasionally I remember to take photographs of them. Sygnathiformes are notoriously hard critters to take quality photos of, they have a habit of [...]
